Lisa L. BiklenLisa is a member of the probate group and focuses her practice on trust and estate administration and estate planning.
Lisa has over 16 years of experience in the fields of estate and trust administration and sophisticated estate planning. Lisa began her career with Ransmeier & Spellman when the firm was founded in 1979, working in the probate department for several years before she attended law school and became an attorney in 1988. While in law school, Lisa interned for the late Judge Hugh Bownes of the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Her interest in fine arts and antiques also led her to attend the 19th and 20th century decorative arts program at the auction house of Sotheby & Co. in London in 1985.
The focus of Lisa’s practice is the transfer of family property and investments by lifetime and at-death arrangements using methods designed to meet the particular client’s goals, and to seek to minimize the impact of gift, estate, income and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Her experience extends to “both sides of the fence,” including, on the estate planning side, preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, retirement account beneficiary designations and charitable giving arrangements, and on the administration side, representation of estate and trust fiduciaries, including preparation of accountings, income and estate tax filings, advice regarding tax elections, post-mortem tax planning options, assistance with asset transfers and long-term trust administration.
Lisa was born on July 5, 1957 in Worcester, Massachusetts and has lived in New Hampshire since 1973. She and her husband reside in Concord.
