Steve is a litigator, practicing in the areas of
Professional Liability and Employment Law
Steve was born on
August 7, 1949 in New York City and attended public schools there through the 8th grade.
He left the city to attend Phillips Exeter
Academy and became acquainted with the charms of New Hampshire, which made a lasting
impression on him. He subsequently attended Harvard College, where he received his AB, JD and MBA degrees and was
awarded a fellowship to Cambridge
University to live in John Harvard's rooms at Emmanuel College and pursue an
independent course of study. Steve practiced law with Foley, Hoag & Eliot in Boston
from 1976-1983 and concentrated his practice in employment law from the management
perspective. He has been at Ransmeier & Spellman since 1983 and enjoys a varied
practice of civil litigation. Steve is a past President of Merrimack County Bar
Association and has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1976.
He is admitted to
practice in Massachusetts, as well as New Hampshire, and has appeared before the First
Circuit Court of Appeals and a variety of state and federal agencies with regulatory
authority in the areas in which he practices, such as professional licensing and
employment discrimination.
Steve
is President of the Concord (NH) Public Library Foundation; Coordinator
for Concord Programming for the New Hampshire Humanities Council; a
Harvard College Admissions Alumni Interviewer; and a member of the New
Hampshire Preservation Alliance.
