Tom is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, elder law and
land conservation matters.
Born in Hanover, New Hampshire
on July 17, 1951, Tom has practiced law in New Hampshire since 1980 and
concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration,
probate, elder law, and land conservation law. Tom is a frequent
lecturer on these topics to professionals and
the general public and is founding chair of the Elder Law section of the New Hampshire Bar
Association. He represents both landowners and conservation organizations in land
protection projects and conservation transactions. He and a member of the Boards of the
Fire Rivers Conservation Trust and the Turkey
River Basin Trust. Tom is a Fellow of the American
College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Tom lives in New Hampton, NH with his wife,
Sylvia Bates, a land conservation consultant, and has three children. Tom and Sylvia
enjoy hiking, canoeing, skiing and
gourmet cooking
